Am I Saved?

I believe today many Christians are confused if they are really saved. The name Christian has had a bad history with being called a hypocrite, When in actuality we are all sinners only trying to live like Christ to the best we can. Do not get me wrong, the church is filled with true hypocrites who love there sin more than God and will practice there sin no matter what the bible teaches. This is no joking matter since our souls and possibly our family are counting on what it really means to be saved.

We Must Hear

In (Romans 5:8) But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! ( Romans 8:3-4) What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering, in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Our ears must hear this and open our eyes to fully digest what this means. No matter how hard we try we would never be good enough. This is why Jesus had to sacrifice himself, so that sin would be forever out of the equation. Now we can decide to have a personal relationship with God without the guilt and pain of sin.

Believe and Confess

In (Romans 10:9-10) If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. We must believe even if we have doubts because God will not leave you in your doubts. Ask and you shall receive the wisdom of understanding. Confess Jesus as Lord and you have found the salvation only Christ can offer.

Repent Your Sins

In (Acts 17:30-31) Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent, because He has set a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.” We repent to not only acknowledge our sin but to help us resist and change our life to follow Christ. Pray for God to search your heart for sin that may have gone unnoticed.

Baptism In With the New

We see in (1 Peter 3:21) Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Now we have heard the amazing sacrifice Jesus made to save our souls. We believe and confessed Jesus as our Lord and savior. We have searched our hearts and handed our sins over to him to help us resist the temptations. But now we take a pledge of baptism to help us remember our salvation. This is typically done at church with your preacher in front of the church as a witness of your salvation. A symbol of washing away the old you and starting a new life in Christ.

Living In Christ

We are no longer bound to our old life and free to change. A change that involves a love for God like no other and a burning desire to grow in our relationship with our creator. Paul says in (Romans 6:6) For we know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that sin’s dominion over the body may be abolished, so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin. I am so thankful that God can forgive my sins through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. So in a since we also must crucify our old way of life and begin to live for God. A grave misunderstanding would be to believe we are saved no matter how you live your life. It's never okay to stay between fully serving God or pretend to serve God. In (Matthew 7:21-23) Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers! A life of a Christian should become a life long relationship with God, always trying to live as Christ and become a better person everyday.

Change Within

The Holy Spirit is God's gift to us after accepting Jesus into our hearts. The Holy Spirit will help us, guide us, speak to us, and reveal sin within us. In ( Galatians 5:22-25) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. Paul tells us by living a life in Christ we will see the fruits of the Spirit being revealed through us. This is a great indicator to see if we are improving in our walk with Christ.

Becoming A Disciple

Jesus tells us in (Matthew 28:19-20) Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We are told not only to live as Christ and become disciples. But also to spread his word, lead people to salvation and teach them the truth of God's word. With the hope that none shall perish but find hope in Jesus Christ.
